Hundreds attend Ó Domhnaill Election Campaign Launch

Fianna Fáil Local Election Candidate for Glenties Cllr Seamus Ó Domhnaill kicked off his campaign in Ostan Loch Altan, Gortahork at the weekend by delivering a speech to supporters in which he outlined the total disregard which this Government has for rural Ireland.

Speaking at the launch Cllr Ó Domhnaill outlined the many projects and the large investment which he has secured for the Glenties Electoral area since being elected in 2009.

“I believe this area needs serious and determined representation. I fully commit to providing that full time representation for this area every day over the next five years. ”

The Councillor stated how he, “would try to initiate a scheme which would assist small towns and villages by reducing commercial rates, making it easier to set up business and secure jobs in these towns.

“I have delivered for this area in the last 5 years and I want to continue to deliver for this area and that is why I am seeking re-election. I have assisted in progressing the Gweedore Sewerage Scheme, the Falcarragh Sewerage Scheme, as well as the Gortahork Scheme which I hope will go to construction in late 2015 or 2016. I have secured over half a million euro for improving water quality in the Gortahork and Falcarragh areas with a large scale pipe replacement which took place from Magheroarty towards Meenlaragh.”

In attendance also was Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill who stressed the importance of getting the vote outing order to continue to secure the future of a dedicated and full time Councillor for the area.
