Ó Domhnaill Slams Closure of Donegal and Killybegs

Donegal South West Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill has slammed the HSE’s decision to suddenly close the X-Ray Units in the Donegal Town and Killybegs Community Hospitals.

Raising the issue on the Order of business in the Seanad yesterday (Tuesday) Ó Domhnaill said; “It is totally unacceptable for the HSE to close both units particularly in light of the fact that the local communities in Killybegs and Donegal Town raised in the region of €300,000 towards both X-Ray Units.”

“I am calling on the Minister for Health Dr. James Reilly and the HSE to immediately fully restore the X-Ray Services to Killybegs and Donegal Town.”

“The decision by the HSE to remove services in Killybegs and Donegal Town and transfer the radiographer to duties at Letterkenny General Hospital is wholly unacceptable and must be reversed without delay.”

“Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill has tabled an emergency adjournment debate on the issue and the debate will take place in the Seanad tonight.”
