Ó Domhnaill Welcomes Major Investment in Largo Foods

Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill has today (Monday) welcomed the announcement by Largo Foods that the Company is to invest €2.6million in their Gaoth Dobhair based manufacturing plant. It is expected that 40 new jobs will also be created.


Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill said: “I very much welcome today’s announcement by the Company, who are one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of snack foods in Ireland. The company employs 190, between full time, part time and seasonal (equivalent of 123 full time posts) on the Gaoth Dobhair Business Park. This new investment is expected to see 40 new jobs created at the company which is excellent news in these challenging economic times.”

“The investment in this new line brings the total investment in the company over the past year to almost €5 million, which is a clear indication of the commitment by Largo Foods and in particular the Company’s Managing Director Ray Coyle to the Gaoth Dobhair Plant. The investment is also a vote of confidence in the company’s workforce in Gaoth Dobhair.”

“Largo Foods manufacture well known brands such as Tayto, King, Hunky Dorys, Perri and Sam Spudz which are sold in the Irish, UK and European Markets.”
