General Election Candidate Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill has this week requested the Minister at the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government to consider additional funding for Donegal County Council to elevate the problem with unfinished estates.
Earlier this week Ó Domhnaill said: “Over the past number of weeks, I have received numerous queries from constituents who have purchased houses in estates that are not fully completed or have outstanding issues like sewerage treatment plants, roads or lighting. This is putting immense pressure on Donegal County Council who are left to deal with these outstanding works.”
“A house is one of the biggest investments people will encounter over their life times and the fact that they have paid for their properties and now find the estate works are not being completed is unacceptable.
“I have requested the Minister review this issue and consider additional funding to accommodate the Council for estates that require finishing works.” ; said Ó Domhnaill
