Donegal South West Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill has today confirmed that €400,000 is being provided for the development of the road and a new footpath from the Drumboe Lower access road towards the New Finn Valley College.

Ó Domhnaill said: “I was successful in securing €200,000 from the Department of Transport under the EU Co-financed scheme. €100,000 was also provided by Donegal County Council and a further €100,000 as a development contribution from Donegal VEC which brings the total allocation for this project to €400,000.”

“I feel it important to clarify this point and to reassure local residents and parents that this project will be delivered. The work will be carried out over the coming months and consists of widening and improvement works to the road, a footpath will be erected on the left hand side of the access road towards the Finn Valley College. The New Finn Valley College Project is due to be complete by September 2011.”

“Cllr Patrick Mc Gowan worked closely with me in ensuring that funding was put in place for this project.”
