Ó Domhnaill Confirms Over €40,000 for Gaeltacht Community Road Scheme
Donegal South West Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill has confirmed that 29 Local Bog / Community Roads will be improved under the Údarás na Gaeltahcta funded Community roads scheme.
Senator Ó Domhnaill said; “This scheme was first introduced in 2009 and has proved very beneficial in having local access routes improved for turf cutters, farmers and Community groups.”
“While the overall funding available may seem modest, the work which will be carried out will be done on a real value for money basis using local community employment schemes.”
“The Údarás na Gaeltachta Engineer will now inspect all the roads before work begins and again when complete. I expect that work will commence on the roads concerned over the next week and all work is expected to be complete by early November.”
“I would like to pay tribute to all the community employment workers who will undertake the work on each route.”
