Convoy and Raphoe Bus Service

Ó Domhnaill  Re- Introduction of Letterkenny to Strabane via Convoy and Raphoe Bus Service

Donegal South West Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill has received confirmation from his colleague the Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey TD that authorisation has now been given to re-introduce the Letterkenny to Strabane, Bus Éireann Service via the Glenmaquinn Road, Convoy and Raphoe.  This approval follows on-going representations by Senator O Domhnaill.

“I have been pursuing this issue with both Bus Éireann management and the Minister for Transport outlining the need to restore the Bus Service to the area.  The route in question forms part of the Letterkenny to Strabane via Convoy and Raphoe Service which is a cross border service and therefore Bus Éireann needed the approval of both the Department of Transport and the Northern Ireland Authorities.”

“Having been making representations on the need to provide this essential service I am very pleased that the approval has been authorised.  Bus Éireann now hope to have the service up and running in the next few weeks with the timetable being the same or similar to the previous service on this route.”

“The re-instalment of the service will benefit many residents, who use the service in the Convoy and Raphoe areas in particular.” Concluded Ó Domhnaill
